The Continental Guadalajara México team followed the DMAIC methodology to reduce the downtime at Pointer Press of the Ford U2XX line from an average of 5.92 hours to 3.34 hours per month by September 20, 2007. Tools used included time series, Pareto, process flow, cause and effect diagram, hypothesis testing, and DoE. This resulted in an annual savings of $132,832.
