ASQ’s World Conference on Quality and Improvement (WCQI) has worked hard to strengthen its host cities through community engagement projects. This year we will renew this tradition by offering a social responsibility (SR) project in support of Children’s Medical Center Dallas (CMC), located one mile from the conference site—Hilton Anatole. CMC is a private, not-for-profit hospital that offers care for children from birth to 18 and provides 360,000 patient visits per year.
For more information on the facility and its work, please visit www.childrens.com. Due to patient confidentiality and infection control, groups are not allowed to visit the medical facility. Instead, attendees are encouraged to come to the SR project area in the exhibit hall. In this area, we will feature various projects and donation opportunities to support this great organization.
These projects and donation drives will run throughout the conference. So please stop by the SR project area during session breaks or anytime it’s convenient for you. This is a great way to support the Dallas community while meeting and networking with other conference attendees in a fun environment.
For updates on this project, as well as information on social responsibility sessions at the conference, please thesro.org/wcqi.
If you plan on sharing your experiences at the 2014 World Conference on Quality and Improvement, please use #WCQI14 when using social media. Also stay connected though ASQ’s social communities.
Do you have a quality story you would like to share? Have you used quality tools in your personal or professional life in a unique manner? If so, we would like you to participate in our Quality for Life™ program, which will be held at the 2014 World Conference on Quality and Improvement.
Quality for Life™ shares the stories of passionate ASQ members who use their quality skills to make a difference. If you have a story that you would like to share about how you’ve effectively utilized quality tools in your professional or personal life, ASQ will have a film crew on-site to conduct interviews. Filming will take place in Room Fleur-de-Lis in the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas, Monday, May 5, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Tuesday, May 6, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
To schedule an interview, contact ASQ Communications Specialist Ryan Krueger at firstname.lastname@example.org. Walk-up interviews will also be accepted during filming hours, however you will not be guaranteed a time slot. The interview itself only takes approximately 10 minutes and upon production, will be edited down to about a 2–3 minute interview that will be posted to the ASQ website at some point in 2014–15. Go to the Quality for Life website for past examples.
