Review Process

The Technical Program Committee of the World Conference on Quality and Improvement provides the following information to help you understand how the judges review your proposal.

• ASQ Headquarters receives session application and abstract via the ASQ Web site and acknowledges them.
• Five independent, self-identified subject matter experts review each submission and rank it on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being least favorable and 5 being most favorable.

When completing the review, the reviewers use the following criteria.

• How well does the proposal relate to the overall conference theme and at least one of the identified focus areas?
  • The explanation you provide in the application is the basis for this review.
  • The proposal should offer a unique perspective or application that adds value for an attendee.
• Will your proposal attract a diverse and global audience?
  • Identify the best industry match for your proposal.
  • Identify the technical area of expertise which best matches the content of your proposal.
• Did you address the following areas completely and thoroughly?
  • Learning outcomes are clearly identified.
  • The proposal demonstrates application of the content.
  • The indicated experience level of the suggested audience matches the depth and/or complexity of the content being delivered.
  • Proposal title matches the content of the presentation.
  • Proposal is free of commercialism.
  • The proposal abstract, description, and learning outcomes will be used in the selection review process.
• Are the speaker credentials complete?
  • Provide a minimum of three speaking references and/or presentation ratings.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of three years working experience in the identified subject/technical area of expertise.

The Technical Program Committee will look at any available feedback on the presenter from past World Conference sessions and may use the references to confirm the presenter’s ability to deliver the presentation in a professional manner.

  • Alignment to theme and areas of focus
  • Originality
  • Technical content, value and relevance
  • Timing to cover subject
  • Overlap with other sessions
  • Balance with overall conference

Submission of the application and proposal does NOT guarantee acceptance as a speaker at the World Conference on Quality and Improvement.

We will provide feedback to all applicants and will not identify the reviewers.
