Session Description:
Product quality is one of the most important concerns of manufacturers today. The lack of product quality, which can be defined as being deficient in the design or manufacture of a product that meets user needs, is one of the most important factors in why products fail in the marketplace today. This presentation will discuss the use of virtual products as an approach to achieving quality.
Presenter's Bio:
Fred Thomas is the Automotive Industry Director for Apriso Corporation, a leading provider of software-based adaptive operations execution systems for manufacturers. He has over 25 years in global automotive experience, spanning automotive OEM’s, suppliers and enterprise software solution providers. Thomas spent 12 years with Volkswagen of America as part of the IT leadership team, responsible for manufacturing, distribution and finance dealership management systems. During his five year tenure as an IT industry vice president for Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide (formerly Ross Roy Communications), his organization was responsible for developing and hosting many of Chrysler Corporation’s original web sites and interactive advertising programs. After joining Baan Automotive as their Global Industry Director in 1997, Thomas led a global team in the Detroit area that developed the first Baan IV Automotive ERP release. As senior vice president at CMI-Competitive Solutions, he guided this segment-focused ERP Company through an acquisition, becoming President of the resulting organization BRAIN North America Inc.
