Healthways – Streamlining the Returned Mail Process

Type of Team: Lean Six Sigma
This project followed the established Healthways to Excellence methodology and the Lean Six Sigma discipline. The project had three goals: reduce labor costs that were associated with returned mail, improve resource utilization, and eliminate defects within the business reply mail process. The team exceeded the targets by reducing the labor cost per piece by 52 percent, which resulted in an annual savings of $109,000.
