Type of Team: Six Sigma

The team applied standardized Movistar methods of Six Sigma and the DMAIC methodology to find solutions. The project scope was focused on the trading of mobile phones, as from the invoice issuance, including the collection of payments until the invoice is closed. The project had two goals: effectiveness (through reduction of unpaid invoices and overdue invoice payments) and efficiency (through reduction of the effort involved in follow-up controls to detect ‘lost’ payments). The project changed processes executed by more than 900 employees in 92 sales offices. It generated savings of  $184,000 USD, reduced billing/collection process deficiencies by 55 percent, and lowered customer dissatisfaction levels.
